Jennifer turner long

Jennifer Turner Long has been dancing for over 30 years. She danced competitively in the southeast and trained in Virginia, Ohio, Colorado, and Pennsylvania. She taught previously in Virginia and Colorado. She studied dance for the theatre at the University of Virginia and was a member of Musique and the Virginia Dance Company. She has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and a Master’s of Arts degree in Education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She is a member of Dance Educators of America, qualifying with honors in the Performing Arts. She was trained by Linda DeHart, and Ray and Cindy Hollingsworth. Jennifer continually studies and and has trained with Desmond Richardson, Finis Jung, Germaine Salsburg, among others. Jennifer has done a great deal of work in the community, choreographing for children’s theater, community performances, the Junior Miss Organization, and local high school musicals.

Ms. Tracy

Ms. Tracy comes to us with a degree in Music Education from Shenandoah University. She has performed and taught extensively and continues to teach voice and piano in addition to dance. Ms. Tracy has an extensive background teaching children both in the studio setting as well as the public school systems and has found these experiences to be very inspiring. She was fortunate enough to spend almost ten years working for Walt Disney World as a member of their Entertainment department, performing in their shows and parades for six years. She has also worked with the Disney Educational programs. Tracy has a wonderful passion for the arts, particularly arts education.

Ms. Andrea

Ms. Andrea has been dancing since she was five years old. She trained locally in the Central PA region and traveled regionally to continue her training in various locations including New York. She graduated from Susquehanna University. She has choreographed several pieces for community organizations. She continued her education at The Studio and has now been teaching for over ten years. Ms. Andrea is extremely skilled in the classroom and has developed numerous programs for our younger dancers. She currently serves as Assistant Director.

Ms. Caitlin

Ms. Caitlin trained locally in the Central Pa area including studying at The Studio for over seven years. Caitlin is a graduate of Capital Area School of the Arts and a graduate The Art Institute of York. She served as an Assistant Teacher for five years and she has served as a substitute instructor for three years. She furthers her training taking master classes in Atlantic City, Philadelphia,and in New York City at Broadway Dance Center. She has completed intensive ballet training also. She has served as Assistant Ballet Director for two years and we are very excited about the talent she brings to The Studio.

Mr. Eric

Mr. Eric is currently the company manager for Keystone Dance Project (KDP) and an ambassador of Lindy Hop through the Frankie Manning Foundation. He has taught Hip Hop locally for 10 years, and continues to make connections, gain more knowledge, spread the love of social dance, and share dance history. Eric gives extensively of his time to community service as well. A highlight of his career includes his work with the P.R.I.D.E Dance Project at Marshall Math Science Academy (MMSA) in Harrisburg. In September 2014, KDP gave a lecture demonstration for students at MMSA. After the program, students were inspired to start their own group called P.R.I.D.E Dance Project. Mr. Eric has been the co-director and choreographer for P.R.I.D.E. for the last three years. In 2016 he became a member of the International Dance Council CID. He recently choreographed and cast local dancers and students to dance for the TV show, “Blank Meets Blank” which aired on Tru TV in June 2018. He is an asset to The Studio, and we’re very excited to have him.

Ms. Molly

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Molly began her training under the direction of her mother. Following her passion she went on to major in dance at Point Park University studying with Douglas Bentz, Judith Leifer-Bentz, Jodi Welch and Ron Tassone, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts. While at Point Park she was a swing for the Pittsburgh Playhouse Production of “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” directed and choreographed by Rob Marshall. After graduation she danced with the site specific, modern-based Mary Miller Dance Company and with the Philadelphia-based jazz dance company ‘Waves’ under the direction of Shimon Braun.She performed in the feature film “Living Out Loud” starring Holly Hunter, Inatoriso Cabaret Show in Tokyo, Japan and in numerous industrials and commercials for companies such as Glaxo Smith-Kline. Molly served as an assistant professor of dance at the University of the Arts for 14 years. Teaching engagements included Jacksonville University, DeSales University, Pennsylvania State University and the Manhattan Dance Project. Molly was an artist-in-residence at Ecole de Ballet and Just Move Dance in Luxembourg. She has also taught Master classes in Luxembourg, Paris and London, as well as studios and conventions throughout the US. Molly has choreographed nearly 20 original premiere works on stage as well as in concert. Her passion for jazz dance shines through in her work, showcasing her characteristically bold yet fluid use of movement, unique interpretation of music, and creative staging with large groups of dancers. We are delighted to have her with us.

Ms. Donna

Ms. Donna earned her Master of Arts degree in Dance Education through the University of Northern Colorado, where she was awarded the Graduate Dean’s Scholarship. She is a certified member of Dance Masters of America, Inc., and a graduate of the DMA Teacher’s Training School, where she earned certification in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern. Donna is a current member of the National Dance Education Organization, and Mid-Atlantic Dance Masters Chapter 17, where she serves as President. She is also the treasurer for UNITY, a national dance organization. Donna serves as a regional and national dance competition judge, is a Certified Flexistretcher Instructor, and has choreographed for many high school and community theater organizations. Donna previously earned her B.A. in Journalism, Literature, and Creative Writing, and has over 10 years of experience in marketing and project management.

Ms. Teena

Ms. Teena began her dance career with Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) in Carlisle, Pa., where she danced principal roles in numerous well-known ballets such as George Balanchine’s La Source, Divertimento No. 15 and Valse Fantasie. She also worked with aspiring choreographers at the Carlisle Project. At age 16, Teena joined Ballet Arizona, and then Harrisburg Ballet where she performed as a soloist. She earned her B.S. degree in Dietetics, with a minor in Dance, at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she was a member of the university’s dance company and served as an assistant choreographer. Teena served as Artistic Director of Berks Ballet Theatre until 2005 and assisted in the choreography of many ballets, including The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Fantasia, and Peter and the Wolf. Her ballet, String Serenade, was featured in the 2004 Regional Dance America Northeast Festival. Most recently, she served as Ballet Mistress for Pennsylvania Youth Ballet/Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley in Bethlehem, PA. Teena enjoys continuing her dance education and is a certified Progressive Ballet Technique instructor. She has also attended Lisa Howell’s Level 1 training for dance teachers and health professionals and CPYB Teachers Workshop. She has taught master ballet classes throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition to teaching dance, Teena was an instructor at barre3 Lehigh Valley and is now a certified Barre Above(TM) instructor.

Ms. Trisha

Ms. Trisha is an alum of The Studio. Training at The Studio for 6 years she then went on to graduate from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelors in Special Education and Early Childhood Education with minors in music and dance. She served as an Assistant Teacher for 3 years here at The Studio. She taught university club dance classes in Musical Theatre and taught Acrobatics to 2 and 3 year-olds in the Bloomsburg Community. Growing up she participated in gymnastics and cheerleading tumbling. She furthers her training taking master classes in Atlantic City and Bloomsburg. Ms. Trisha received an AcroDance certification through Acrobatic Arts January 2021.

MS. HANNAH

Ms. Hannah has been dancing since she was in preschool. She grew up in MD where she began her dance training, and was active in dance within the public school system in addition to her studio settings. While studying Elementary Education and Dance at Messiah University, Ms. Hannah was a dancer, choreographer, and leader in Acclamation Dance Ministry, and performed in the GiViM dance ensemble under Gregg Hurley and Messiah adjunct staff, and had the opportunity to take masters courses with Ballet Magnificat and Ad Deum Dance Company. She has also performed in the Central PA community under works with Danielle Smith Guillermo. She is an active member of National Dance Education Organization, through which she has attended in person and virtual conferences and taken continuing education courses. Ms. Hannah is also a certified Progressing Ballet Techinque (PBT) instructor.

Ms. Lindsey

Originally from Rochester, New York, Ms. Lindsey began her training at studios in the Rochester area at age 7 and continued all throughout college. She moved to Mechanicsburg, PA in 2016 to study dance under the direction of Gregg Hurley at Messiah University. There is also where she studied theatre, became Head Choreographer of Acclamation Dance Ministry, and took master classes with Ballet Magnificat and Ad Deum Dance Company. Throughout college, she performed in Acclamation Dance Ministry, as a GiViM Dance Ensemble member, as well as musicals and plays in the theatre department. She graduated in 2020 with her Bachelors of Arts degree. She continued in dance performance under EncounteredHeart Dance Company, but is now focused on studying and learning dance to become a better teacher.

ms. Kayla

Ms. Kayla began dancing at the age of 3 and started dancing competitively at the age of 5. During her years as a dancer, Kayla trained in many styles including: Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Baton, Lyrical, Musical Theater, Contemporary, African, Flamenco, and Bollywood. During her time as a competitive dancer, Kayla has won several awards such as, Tiny Miss Photogenic, Teen Overall high score, NAACP ACTS-SO Gold Winner, and The City of Harrisburg Honorary Proclamation. Kayla is a 2012 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School and Capital Area School of the Arts. She received her Bachelors in Fine Arts at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia Pennsylvania in 2016. Kayla is now a real estate professional with Keller Williams of Central Pennsylvania. Though she has a career, her love for dance and wanting to share that love with others is what lead her to The Studio. As a dance teacher, Kayla feels that it is important for her students to feel confident, heard, motivated, and inspired at all times and they are in an environment they feel comfortable in. Kayla wants to see her students succeed, be proud of their accomplishments and enjoy all of the hard work and dedication they put into dance.
