Long days, warm weather, and a relaxed pace -- summer is so much fun at The Studio! There is so much going on, we simply can not wait!!

There are two types of classes--week-long Intensives or Camps, and Classes that meet once a week for the four-week summer series. The Summer Series starts on July 11th and runs through August 5th. Enroll early! Early Bird Pricing is good through March 20th (and are applied at checkout). Regular pricing will be in place starting March 21st.

Weekly Intensives provide an opportunity to grow in technique and artistry. We’re thrilled to welcome back professionals from Koresh Dance Company in Philadelphia along with other Master Teachers. These intensives allow dancers to try genres they may not take during the school year. We’re really excited to offer Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, African, and Improvisation this year!

Evening classes are a ton a fun as well and also provide the opportunity for a dancer to try something new. There are many camps and classes this year, which we hope will bring enjoyment and challenge to all of our dancers! Below find camps and classes for preschool dancers, elementary school dancers, and our middle school and high school dancers.

Camps

Encampo! Ages 3 - 6, July 11 - 15, 10:00 - noon, $155 - Come and be a part of the magical Madrigal family. Dancers will discover and celebrate their unique gifts through dance, music and fun. Each day campers will learn dances to latin inspired music and celebrate the warm culture of South America with fun crafts and activities. Dancers end their week with a fun performance for family and friends. This camp is perfect for ages 3 - 6.

Twinkle Bear Adventure! Ages 3 - 5.5, August 1 - 5, 10:00 - noon, $155 - Grab your favorite teddy bear or stuffy and come along on a fun adventure! You'll arrive at our pretend warm sandy beach - "Surf's up, Dude!" "Yee-haw!" Giddy up partner and visit the West for a hoedown. Twinkle Bear loves the exotic animals of the Safari. Saunter down south of the border to hear latin music and dance. End your wild adventure with a trip to the most magical place on earth, "Disney World"! Each camp includes a Picnic Party day with Twinkle bear, where campers can share treats and play games. Campers complete crafts each day. Friends and family are invited to a special performance at the end of camp.

Hello Neighbor! Ages 8-10, July 18 - 22, 1:00 - 3:30, $215 - Held at the Pennsylvania State Museum, this unique camp will be a ton of fun! Dancers will be in the driver's seat, creating as they go. Field trips to The Broad Street Market and The Midtown Scholar, along with special features from the State Museum are part of this fabulous week!

Bridge to Sharktooth Island - Ages 5 - 10, July 18 - 22, 9:30 - noon, $215 - This fun camp will blend the creativity of movement and story and add a dose of STEM experimentation at the end of each day in collaboration with our friends at Challenge Island! Join us for these exciting and multi-faceted adventures. Book and experimentation supplies included.
Rainbow Pop Dance Camp! Ages 5 - 10, July 25 - 29, 10:00 - noon, $155 - Celebrate the colors of the rainbow with all styles of dance and fun in our Rainbow Pop Dance Camp! Show your rainbow spirit by dressing up in the color of day. Jazz it up with "Pop Star Pink Day." Show your school spirit with a pom-pom dance on "Cheerful Cherry Red Day." Discover the passion and poise of ballet on "Beautiful Baby Blue Day." Bust-a-move on "Get Down Green Hip Hop Day." Rainbow Pop Dance Campers enjoy a craft each day, and have time for reflecting in their dance camp journals. Celebrate completion of the week-long camp at our funfetti party for family and friends. Rainbow Pop Dance Camp is for ages 5-10.

Koresh Intensive, Ages 11+, July 11 - 15, 10:00 - 4:00, $350
Taking Art from the heArt, Date and Time TBA, this class partners with Contemporary 2 - Using the current art installation at the Susqhanna Art Museum as inspiration to create a site specific work that takes place not in the studio but while visitors and guests are viewing work. This unique, amazing opportunity will be limited in size. Dancers should have at least one year of Contemporary dance training. Additional information about onsite time at the museum will be available ASAP. Once that time is known a class charge will be established.
Take Me Out to the Ballgame! Ages 10+, July 18 - 22, 10:00 - noon plus a Senators game on Friday, $220 - This super fun week-long camp will enjoy a Christmas in July Summer theme and conclude with a performance at The Harrisburg Senators game on Friday, July 22nd! Plan to attend this game enabling your dancer to perform. Cost includes a costume for your dancer. Tickets for the baseball game will be $13 and the game is followed by fireworks!
Tap & Jazz for the Theater, Ages 12+, August 1 - 5, 10:00 - noon, $155 - Join us for this jazz and tap intensive! With a nod to Musical Theater we'll take a deep dive into both of these genres. This camp is not to be missed!

Summer @ The Studio Registration Details:

Full payment is required upon registration to secure a spot in summer camps, classes and The Studio’s Summer Dance Intensive.

Summer cancellation policy:

All refunds due to withdrawal will incur a $25 administrative fee per child per camp, class, or Intensive.
All cancellation requests must be sent in writing to info@summerdaledance.com.
If a child withdraws from a camp or class at any time on or after the first day of the program no refunds are given. The only exception is for a medical reason, which requires a physician’s note. In the event of withdrawal due to a medical issue, the tuition is prorated, the unused portion is refunded, and the administrative fee is waived.
The Studio reserves the right to cancel a scheduled camp or intensive due to low enrollment. If a camp, class, or intensive is canceled, the family will receive a full refund of the tuition paid.
